Wine at Eeden is made with passion and patience. From preparing the land and planting the vines to tasting the first wine has been an arduous process, accented by moments of agony and ecstasy. The journey has been worthwhile, because once we have tasted the first wine made from grapes grown in Eeden soil, we were compelled to continue the pursuit of crafting unique and exceptional wines.
The terroir is well suited for red varietals, including Cabernet and Sirah. We planted Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. This provides us the opportunity to produce single vineyard, individual varietals from these three grape varieties, but also to selectively blend them to produce unique wines.
Every step in the grape-growing and wine-making process at Eeden is done by expert hands, from caring for and sculpting the vineyards, selecting only the best grape clusters, gentle crushing of the grapes, fermenting, racking, bottling, and labeling. We take care to ensure that only the best quality wine ends up in each bottle.
We currently serve wine from the 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2012 vintages in our tasting room. This may change based on availability.
The 2006 release features a Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The Cabernet is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah. It has a dense body typical of wine made with mountain grapes. It is rich in flavor with a beautiful dark color.
The 2007 release features a Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The Cabernet is a 75%/25% blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine has a pleasant red fruit bouquet. This is a smooth wine with cascading layers of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry flavors, and firm tannins. The alcohol level is 14.4%. The wine is well-balanced with a long finish.
The 2009 release features a Cabernet Franc wine. This is a 75%/25% blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a smooth wine with layers of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. It is well-balanced with a long finish.
The 2010 release features a Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah wine. Both are 100% varietal wines. The Cabernet Franc has a dark inky color that accompanies this full-bodied silky wine that lingers forever on the palate. The Petite Sirah is an old world-style wine with a full body, yet soft tannins. Bold dark fruit and balanced long acidity make this a versatile wine for both the table and cellar.
The 2012 release features a 100% Petite Sirah wine, estate grown and bottled, as the other wines. Vibrant aromas of dark fruit accompany a balanced and full-bodied palate. This is an elegant wine to pair easily with a variety of foods.
